Wissam Ben Yedder's hat-trick helped Toulouse recover from losing an early goal to thrash Ligue 1 strugglers Sochaux 5-1 on Saturday night.
Ben Yedder cancelled out Emmanuel Mayuka's seventh-minute opener with his first and made it 2-1 on the stroke of half-time.
Pantxi Sirieix added a third two minutes after the restart before Ben Yedder completed his treble from the penalty spot.
And the visitors' misery was completed when Lionel Zouma, who gave away the penalty, put through his own net in injury time.
Toulouse remained in mid-table despite the win, but already Sochaux's hopes of avoiding the drop are looking bleak. This was a ninth league loss of the campaign.
It got off for a flying start, though, as Sebastien Corchia picked out Mayuka in the area and his low shot beat Ali Ahamada.
Serge Aurier had a shot blocked by keeper Simon Pouplin as the hosts sought an immediate response and the leveller arrived in the 28th minute.
Martin Braithwaite retrieved a lost ball on the left and crossed to the back post where Ben Yedder was on hand to slam home from three yards.
The 23-year-old striker scored again before the break, beating Joseph Lopy on the edge of the area before taking his time to pick his spot.
Ben Yedder turned provider two minutes into the second half, delivering a quick pass for Sirieix to curl an effort into the top corner from 25 yards.
And the former France Under-21 international got his third in the 61st minute, sending Pouplin the wrong way from the spot after Zouma had been penalised for a handball.
There was no way back for Sochaux, but they showed some fight, Sanjin Prcic bringing a smart save out of Ahamada and the providing the corner which Zouma headed just over.
Zouma was on target in the third minute of added time, but at the wrong end as he impressively volleyed home Toulouse's fifth from Serge Aurier's cross.
