Tranmere v Bournemouth preview

Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Tranmere and Bournemouth at Prenton Park.

Tranmere still have concerns over Martin Devaney and Andy Robinson. The midfield pair are both working their way back from hamstring injuries and although they have returned to training, Rovers boss Les Parry is wary of rushing them back into action too soon. He told the club's official website: "The same two are struggling. Devaney trained the other day and came through but we did some running at the end and he was having to take it easy." The loss of Devaney and Robinson has provided Lucas Akins and Adam McGurk with a chance to shine, and they look set to feature once more. Parry added: "Because of the way Lucas is playing, we don't need to take chances with Devaney. I want him back as soon as possible, but if you don't have to rush him it helps." Bournemouth's injury difficulties continue. The Cherries are likely to be without seven first-team players for the trip to Prenton Park. Midfielder Mark Molesley has a hamstring tear which will keep him out for at least three weeks, on-loan Nathan Byrne is set to undergo surgery on an ankle knock which could leave him sidelined for four months, and midfielder Shaun McDonald has not yet recovered from a badly bruised toe. Striker Michael Symes and midfielder Joe Partington have returned to light training but will not take part in the fixture against Rovers, with both players targeting a reserve-team match against Brighton in two weeks as a comeback date. Meanwhile, defender Adam Barrett is rated 50-50 with a groin strain. Warren Cummings, who suffered bad bruising to the shin following a challenge in the match against Hartlepool last week, is fighting to be fit.
