Maicosuel scored the only goal as Udinese overcame having to play for an hour with 10 men to claim a narrow 1-0 win over Pescara, just their second in Serie A this season.
Udinese had started the better of the two teams but the complexion of the game changed after half an hour when Danilo was sent off following his second yellow card.
However, Pescara could not take advantage and instead it was Maicosuel who pounced on a mistake by Pescara midfielder Manuele Blasi eight minutes after the break to guide the hosts to victory.
Udinese had the first attempt on goal, Giampiero Pinzi shooting over the bar.
Pescara responded immediately with Juan Quintero firing in a 20-yard free-kick which Zeljko Brkic got down to save to his right.
Antonio Di Natale was then played in by Andrea Lazzari but the Udinese striker missed the ball when unmarked in front of Pescara goalkeeper Mattia Perin.
Udinese were then reduced to 10 men after half an hour when Danilo was sent off after bringing down Quintero near the penalty area when he was last man.
The visitors looked to take advantage of having one more body with Jonathas going past Maurizio Domizzi before shooting wide.
It was a match of few clear-cut chances and it proceeded in the same manner after the break.
Perin punched away a shot from Mehdi Benatia from outside the area but just moments later the hosts took the lead.
Maicosuel pounced on a weak clearance by midfielder Blasi and the forward slotted home from close range.
The visitors came within inches of equalising 11 minutes later when Matti Lund Nielsen's left-footed shot from outside the area hit the bar and bounced to safety.
With just three minutes left Pescara striker Gianluca Caprari tried his luck from outside the box but Brkic saved down to his right.
Pescara could not find an equaliser as Udinese came away with all three points.
