QPR win a corner but it is cleared and Wigan can almost break. It's end-to-end now with both teams looking for a winner.
Kone with a mazy run and he finds Boselli who tries to measure the ball into the corner but Green saves!
Goal! James McCarthy again! He spreads the ball wide to Beausejour who passes the ball back to the midfielder on the edge of the box rather than cross. McCarthy has time to take a touch and slot the ball past Green.
Goal! Lopez guilty of a poor pass in defence and Wright-Phillips can get away. He cuts in from the left and picks out Djibril Cisse on the edge of the box who guides a low effort into the far right corner with his left foot.
Rare QPR attack and there is space for Mbia to shoot on the edge of the box but he scuffs it and Al Habsi can push the ball away.
Kone appears to be fouled by Mbia. The referee plays on but eventually pulls the play back with both players down.
Spectacular volley from Jones is saved by Green and then Gomez sees his shot from Kone's cut-back hit the crossbar with the keeper beaten! Wigan doing everything but score right now.
Chance! Strong run from Kone as he drives at the QPR defence. He loses out but the ball is deflected into the path of McCarthy - he is one-on-one with Green but drills the shot at him from close range. Good save.
Wright-Phillips turns well and lays the balls square to Taarabt who opens his body to shape a shot into the far corner but only finds the stands.
Kone tries to wriggle free but cannot engineer space and then Gomez goes down easily on the edge of the box to howls from the home crowd. No penalty given for that.
Half Time. All square at the interval after Nelsen cancels out McCarthy's fine strike. QPR in with a shout of that first win but will need to improve.
Good work from Jones and Beausejour down the left sets up Kone for a shot on the edge of the box but he cannot get it on target.
Beausejour whips in a free-kick that is cleared as far as Stam who wins a corner. He takes it short but McCarthy's ball in misses everyone.
More good work from the QPR midfield duo finds Mackie in space for a header but he gets it all wrong and the ball flies yards wide of goal.
It's a real battle in midfield but Wigan come out with the ball and get forward only for McArthur to sky a shot.
But QPR lose the ball on halfway. Wigan can break through Gomez but he dallies horribly and is dispossessed.
Lengthy spell of possession from Wigan ends with a handball from Taarabt. Free-kick in a dangerous position.
Stam hangs up a left-footed cross and Green drops it but the referee has spotted the foul by Beausejour.
That was Wigan nearly ahead again though! Stam's cross is deflected and eludes everyone in the centre, coming to Di Santo at the far post but he cannot force the ball past Green from close range.
Diakite wins the ball but then finds his run checked. Foul given but QPR take it short. They deserved that equaliser.
Gomez plays a nice one-two to get behind the QPR defence but Derry manages to get back. Gomezx tries to find Beausejour out wide but Bosingwa cuts out the pass.
Scrappy in midfield still. QPR enjoying a surprising amount of possession but struggling to find much in the final third.
Goal! Corner comes in and is cleared by Mackie but only as far as James McCarthy who volleys low into the far corner.
Good effort from Jones - the ball is rolled to him and he flicks it up and volleys but Green is able to parry over the bar.
Corner comes to nothing but when Stam swings in another cross, Beausejour is fouled on the edge of the box. Good chance this.
Wigan have a corner but they feel they should have more as Kone goes down in the box after being the victim of a robust block from Hill. Not sure Dowd saw it.
Better triangles between Taarabt and Wright-Phillips find space down the right but the latter's cutback is intercepted by Lopez.
Lots of errors from both sides as Hill only finds Di Santo but he cannot work the one-two with Kone when well placed.
Green targeting Jones as a weak link with these long balls but Mackie isn't getting much joy at present.
Green tries to find Mbia with a long ball but Wigan win it and can break. McCarthy slows down the momentum unintentionally but the hosts will be glad to get hold of the ball for a period.
Rain blowing across the ground here and it's adding to the home side's frustration as they haven't got going yet. QPR are far from playing well though as Mbia drifts a crossfield ball out of play to Taarabt's disgust.
Wright-Phillips tries to put Bosingwa away down the right but gets too much on the pass and that's a goal kick.
Wright-Phillips drills in a cross that AL Habsi pushes away and then Taarabt fires in a weak shot. Purposeful start from the bottom club,
Jones is in defence for Wigan and vulnerable as Taarabt runs at him but the QPR man's threaded pass to Mackie is too strong.
Gabriel: "4-0 Wigan, think the good Wigan team will turn up today and QPR look dead and buried to me. Can see a very comprehensive home win."
Not so much experience available to the home side with the likes of Danny Redmond, Roman Golobart and Fraser Fyvie among the substitutes.
Plenty of options on the bench for QPR. Cisse, Hoilett, Granero, Faurlin, Fabio and Ferdinand all there.
Jack: "Going to go for a wild 4-2 prediction to Wigan! Both defences been fairly poor this season and both will go out for the win. Come on you Latics!"
Steve: "Given Wigan's defensive difficulties, I can't see the Latics keeping a clean sheet, but they will be too strong for this disjointed QPR side. 3-1 Wigan today."
It's a cold afternoon at the DW. Plenty of gloves on show in the warm-up. Jordi Gomez looks like he'd be happier in the changing room right now.
But there is a good omen for the QPR boss. Wigan's record defeat came at the hands of Harry Redknapp (1-9 v Tottenham in November 2009).
QPR will set a new Premier League record of failing to win any of their opening 16 games if they fail to win at Wigan. Only three teams have failed to win any of their opening 16 top-flight games before (Burnley 1889-90, Bolton 1902-03 & Sheffield United 1990-91).
Miles has been in touch on Twitter. He thinks QPR can pick up a first win of the season and backs them to win 3-1.
More of a rejig required for Roberto Martinez. Gary Caldwell and Maynor Figueroa are both suspended. Will he retain his back three with David Jones dropping back or could he switch to a back four?

Our friends at Sky Bet have the odds for this one and make Wigan the 13/10 favourites with QPR at 2/1. The draw is available at 12/5.
Wigan are looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats as they aim to put some clear daylight between themselves and those in the relegation zone.
QPR are still waiting for their first league win of the season but have managed to draw two on the bounce under new boss Harry Redknapp - that's their longest unbeaten run since February.
