Wolfsburg came from behind to beat Hoffenheim and maintain their 100 per cent record at home this season to break into the top six in the Bundesliga. Anthony Modeste gave Hoffenheim the lead with his fifth goal of the season in the 15th minute, but one goal either side of the interval from Ivica Olic secured Dieter Hecking's men their third win in as many home games. Hoffenheim rallied late on, but could not find an equaliser as they were left in mid-table. The five games involving Hoffenheim had seen 27 goals already this season, so more goals at the VW-Arena were not surprising. What did come as a surprise was that it was the guests who took the lead in the 15th minute, although the name of the goalscorer was more predictable. Modeste grabbed his fifth goal of the season when he capitalised on a negligent headed pass back from Ja-Cheol Koo towards Diego Benaglio, rounding the Swiss goalkeeper before dispatching the ball into the back of the net. Benaglio nearly conceded another comical goal when he misjudged the bounce of Kevin Volland's ball forward, but he was able to get back to save on the line. Wollfsburg were struggling to create chances at the other end, but they levelled just before half time when Olic converted after David Abraham's block of Marcel Schafer's shot fell out to the Croatian. Another major defensive mistake - the fourth of the game - enabled Olic to give the hosts the lead early in the second half. This time it was Fabian Johnson who made a hash of his clearance, teeing up Olic once again. Rather than searching for a third goal, the Wolves instead sat on their lead, inviting Hoffenheim to attack them. Modeste sliced a good chance wide while a moment of confusion inside the Wolfsburg penalty area was resolved by the referee's whistle as the Wolves held on.
