Argentina

Netherlands
Final

Long-since established as a golden couple of the WAG/Stag circuit, the van der Vaarts have stormed through to the final. Model, actress and television presenter Sylvie oozes the type of glamour you can't attract playing for Exeter, with her talented man a midfield schemer of genuine pedigree. But why talk about football when you can gush over Sylvie? Her big break came as a TV presenter at FoxKids and music station TMF. A natural beauty, she was voted the Netherlands' Sexiest Female in 2003, the year in which she started seeing Rafael. Two years later they were married - in circumstances mere mortal WAGs can only dream of. The wedding was shown live on SBS. All they needed was Martin Tyler to exclaim 'and it's live' and the day would have been the fairytale they'd always dreamed of. On 16th June 2009, Sylvie announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, and had undergone surgery in May 2009. Thankfully she has finished post-op chemotherapy and is currently cancer free.

Diego Maradona and co may be back in South America but Argentina's Wag and Stag pairing have given the fans at home something to cheer. We were considering staging a dirty protest over Maradona's idiosyncratic/mental decision to leave Esteban Cambiasso and Javier Zanetti out of his squad but due to health and safety reasons have settled for making a couple of controversial selections of our own. Strictly speaking Luli Fernandez is not eligible because her current squeeze Boca Juniors striker Pablo Mouche did not make Maradona's squad. But given old Luli's also been linked to fellow Argies Juan Roman Riquelme and Fernando Gago in the past, she's just too WAGtastic to ignore. Mouche's goal record suggests he's better scoring off the field than on it but we're willing to forgive him on the grounds Fernandez might just upset the bookies' form book to overturn the Dutch duo in this mega match-up.
