Mata is a gifted left winger who plays for Valencia. He boasts excellent pace and trickery on the ball and is still only 21.

The youngster started his career at Real Madrid B before moving to Valencia in 2007 and he has already made a real name for himself at the Mestalla.

He has gone from strength to strength at Valencia and in the 2007/08 campaign he won the Spanish Cup.

Mata, who won the European Under-19 Football Championship in 2006, made his senior debut for Spain in 2009.

The attack-minded player made four appearances during qualifying for the 2010 World Cup, impressing boss Vicente Del Bosque as he scored on three occasions.
