Iniesta worked his way through Barcelona's youth academy to become an integral player for both club and country.
The 25-year-old operates in midfield, preferring to play centrally; but his quality means he can be utilised out wide.
He made his Barca debut in 2002 before going on to secure a permanent position in the first team, featuring in 37 of the side's 38 league games in the 2004/05 campaign.
Iniesta's growing reputation eventually saw him rewarded with his first international cap in 2006.
Iniesta, who is not afraid to grab a game by the scruff of its neck, played a vital role in Spain's road to glory at Euro 2008.
During qualifying for the 2010 World Cup, the attacking midfielder scored once in six appearances.
Iniesta, who has lifted three Primera Liga titles, will likely be a dangerous weapon for Vicente Del Bosque's side at South Africa.
