
Called up as third-choice goalkeeper behind Mark Schwarzer and Adam Federici after Middlesbrough shot-stopper Brad Jones pulled out of the tournament on 11th June for personal reasons.
The Adelaide goalkeeper has spent most of his career in Australia, although he had an unsuccessful spell in Portugal during the 2004/05 season before he returned home to join inaugural A-League side Melbourne Victory in October 2005.
Galekovic spent two years with the club before he joined arch rivals Adelaide where he has been voted the League's best goalkeeper for the last two years and also made his international debut in an Asian Cup qualifier against Indonesia at the start of 2009.
