
The free-scoring attacking midfielder seemed destined to miss out on the World Cup just a few months ago as he struggled to recover from a knee injury which threatened to wreck his dream.
However, the 30-year-old veteran, who was part of the 2008 African Cup of Nations side, has fought his way back to fitness to impress at the recent camps in Brazil and Germany and adds to Carlo Alberto Parreira's options as he can play as an attacking midfieder and as a striker.
South Africa's PSL Player of the Season in 2005/06, he made his international debut in a friendly against Lesotho in 2003, scoring his first goal against Chad.
