A rising star for South Korea, young forward Lee made his international debut in a friendly against Zambia earlier this year and scored his first goal for his country against Hong Kong the following month.
Widely thought of as one of his country's brightest prospects, the 21-year-old has demonstrated impressive attacking style on the international stage.
While he may not have attracted as much publicity as young South Korea colleague Ki Sung-Yong, Lee is considered an important attacking force and is expected to shine in South Africa this summer.
Lee boosted his chances for a spot in the first team when he came off the bench and opened the scoring 18 minutes from time in South Korea's World Cup warm-up match against Ecuador.
The forward started his professional career with FC Seoul in 2008 and after an impressive debut season was named K-League Rookie of the Year.
The young forward has since displayed solid form to establish himself as a regular at the South Korean club, making him a top contender for a starting spot in South Africa.
