Teenage sensation Eriksen will bring youthful flair- and no fear - to the Denmark squad.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder started at Odense BK before signing professional terms in October 2008 with Ajax, where he subsequently thrived in the club's famed youth system.
He has been a revelation this season, breaking into the Ajax first team in January before making his international debut in the friendly match against Austria in March.
That appearance saw Eriksen become Denmark's third-youngest full international after Harald Nielsen and Michael Laudrup.
While his performances have drawn admiring glances from across the continent, with Barcelona and Manchester United among the clubs linked with bids, the teenager has now signed a new contract to stay with Ajax until 2014.
The skilful attacking midfielder has already drawn comparisons with some of the best Ajax and Danish No10s as he reads the game well and is a great passer of the ball.
