Lazovic is set to play a back-up role for Serbia at this summer's World Cup finals.

The striker made his debut as an 18-year-old in a friendly against Brazil, but he has struggled to hold down a regular place in the national side.

Lazovic started his career with hometown club FC Radnicki Kragujevac, but it was at Partizan Belgrade where he made a name for himself.

He joined Feyenoord in the summer of 2003 in a big-money deal, but he failed to have the desired impact and was loaned out to Bayer Leverkusen in 2005.

A short loan spell at Partizan followed before he was sold to Vitesse Arnhem in 2006.

Lazovic recaptured his best form at Vitesse contesting the golden boot in Holland with 19 goals in 32 appearances and after just one season he joined Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.

The talented striker is currently plying his trade in Russia at Zenit Saint Petersburg after joining them in March this year.

Lazovic is into double figures for goals for his country, but he is likely to find himself restricted to a role on the bench in South Africa.
