Kucka was perhaps one of the surprise inclusions in Slovakia's squad due to his lack of international experience but anyone who saw his promising performances for Sparta Prague this season wouldn't have been quite so shocked.
The 23-year-old made his international debut against Liechtenstein in November 2008 but all his caps since then have come in friendly games so he was never given a taste of World Cup qualifying action.
This could prove to be a mistake on the part of coach Vladimir Weiss should he be needed to produce some midfield magic on the biggest stage of all but in fairness he's only recently showed the glimpses of the star he could become.
He scored eight goals during his first season at Sparta as they clinched the Czech Gambrinus liga title by just one point from Jablonec while he also picked up valuable experience of European football in the Europa League.
