Much will be expected of Mansouri when he leads Algeria into battle, with the expectations of a nation resting on his shoulders.
As national skipper and the most-capped member of the squad, he must set the standard for those around him.
Lesser men may buckle under such pressure, but Mansouri has grown accustomed to such a lofty standing down the years.
He has been in and around the Algerian set-up for over a decade and has represented his country on over 60 occasions.
At the age of 32 this may be his last chance to shine on the world stage, while any hopes he has of earning one last pay day at a major European side could also come down to how well he fares in South Africa.
Numerous clubs in England have been linked with a move for the experienced holding midfielder in the past and could be prepared to rekindle their interest.
Mansouri did spend a short spell with Coventry in 2003/04, and has shone in Ligue 1 with Lorient, but he would relish another shot at the Premier League.
