Obinna is one to watch in South Africa this summer and will be expected to shine for the Super Eagles if they are to go far in the tournament.
The 23-year-old is an aggressively powerful winger who strikers Yakubu and Martins will certainly be looking to for service.
He has a good level of international experience after making his Nigeria debut in 2006.
Obinna is now one of the first names on Lars Lagerbeck's team-sheet and has played at three African Cup of Nations tournaments as well as the Olympic Games in Beijing.
Obinna was one of a number of Nigerians who impressed at international youth level enough to earn a move to Europe. Signing a co-ownership contract with Inter Milan and Chievo in 2005, Obinna began his career with the latter.
After three goal-heavy seasons with Chievo, Jose Mourinho then decided to take Obinna to Inter permanently, making him one of his first signings as manager of the Milan giants.
Interestingly, Obinna had agreed a deal to sign on loan for Everton just after singing for Inter, but the move fell through due to his failure to obtain a work permit.
After finding first-team opportunities limited with Inter, Obinna spent the 2009/10 season on loan with La Liga club Malaga.
