Chile happy with postponement

Tributes: Enke is mourned in Germany

Chile have confirmed that they are happy for their friendly with Germany to be postponed.

The Chileans were due to face Germany at the weekend, but the match was cancelled after the suicide of goalkeeper Robert Enke.

And Chile FA chief Harold Mayne-Nicholls confirmed they had no issue with the postponement.

"I accepted at once to postpone the match against Germany because everyone is very affected with what happened to Enke," he said.

"In the future we will see if we agree to play the match in another moment.

"All the German team is very sorry for what happened with Enke and they aren't in any condition to play a football match.

"I think it wouldn't have been correct to celebrate a football match after what happened.

"The German FA got in touch with me and told me that their players were shocked so I accepted at once to postpone the match."

Chile are still due to face Slovakia next week, and they will not look to arrange another match for the weekend.

"We are not going to play against any other team, we will do it only against Slovakia as it is very difficult to get another rival with international level. We will stay in Leverkusen as it was planned from the beginning."
