Button managed to make a two-stop strategy work in China to secure fifth position, but he was nearly 23 seconds behind fourth placed Sebastian Vettel and knows there is still work to do on the MP4-28.
He is joined in Thursday's conference by Felipe Massa who will hope to be closer to Fernando Alonso this weekend after a disappointing race in Shanghai, while Paul Di Resta also faces the media fresh from his track clash with team-mate Adrian Sutil.
Williams driver Pastor Maldonado and Toro Rosso's Jean-Eric Vergne will be present and we will also hear the thoughts of Charles Pic after Caterham opted to bring in Heikki Kovalainen to help with the development of their car.
In Friday's Team Principals' Press Conference, Whitmarsh is joined by Lotus' Eric Boullier, Ferrari's Stefano Domenicali and Sauber's Monisha Kaltenborn.
With tyres the centre of attention in China, Pirelli's Motorsport Director Paul Hembery will also be present, so expect high degradation and a lack of running in Q3 to be discussed.
As ever, you will be able to see both press conferences on Sky Sports F1, as you will throughout the 2013 season.
