The Mercedes driver's second win in the last three events had briefly appeared to be potentially under threat after he was summoned by the stewards to explain an apparent failure to slow for yellow warning flags between turns three and five.
However, rather than suffer the imposition of any time penalty, Rosberg was later handed a reprimand, therefore meaning his win stands.
Speaking before the stewards investigation, and its early-evening outcome, Rosberg had admitted it was an "amazing" feeling to win at Silverstone, particularly as it represented one of the Anglo-German outfit's 'home' races.
Despite driving for a German marque in Mercedes, the team are based in Brackley - just eight miles from Silverstone - and many of the team's staff are British.
"It has been an amazing day and what makes it really special is that it is the team's home grand prix and to be able to win at the team's home grand prix is great," Rosberg told Sky Sports F1.
"I hope all the team members can celebrate with their families tonight because this is for them. We have made so much progress - fastest car in qualifying and a really quick car now in the race. It is getting better and better and it is so good to see.
"To have that pace throughout the race - really we were quick - but it was such a difficult race because with all the tyre failures it was so worrying, every little vibration you got you thought 'oh no, this is happening to me now.' I had a tyre problem too, but I was just lucky I got back to the pits before it exploded."
Rosberg inherited the lead of the race after team-mate Lewis Hamilton suffered a tyre failure and Sebastian Vettel retired with a gearbox problem. The German admitted he probably did not have the pace to catch his team-mate.
He added: "For sure Lewis was doing a great job today and it was a pity for him and all the British fans that he got a problem which cost him a possible win."
