Martin Whitmarsh gives backing to return of in-season testing and penalty points for drivers
Four two-day tests will be held in Europe next year

The FIA confirmed on Friday that four two-day tests following certain European races will replace the three-day Young Driver Test and eight filming days the teams are currently allowed.
"The introduction of four in-season tests next year will not sit comfortably with some people who don't want more testing, but given that it replaces some other rather strenuous testing that will probably be a beneficial thing as it is arranged in Europe at circuits after we have raced there," Whitmarsh said in the Team Principals' Press Conference.
"So I think it is fairly sensible proposal on testing and certainly it will be good for young drivers and good for people that want to develop young drivers."
The governing body also announced a penalty points system, similar to that used on UK roads, will be introduced with drivers who pick up 12 points receiving a one race ban.
"In terms of the points, it has been discussed for a long time - it is clear, written down," Whitmarsh added.
"Potentially though, you could get into a situation as a team with a driver that is close to be prohibited which could be uncomfortable and we will have to see how that develops.
"The other is further restrictions on aerodynamic developments - both in the wind tunnel and CFD - and I think that is prudent and sensible and something we have to do to try and build a more sustainable business model across the entire grid.
"So I think there is no great surprises and most of them are pretty sensible and the right thing for the sport."
