Hockenheim just to be one of the longer world championship circuits, but has subsequently been revised.

It is extremely fast with two distinct sections - the stadium complex with the track twisting in front of the grandstands and pit/paddock area, and then the flowing section through the forest. Chicanes have been added but this is a very fast and exciting circuit, demanding also in terms of car set-up.

Hockenheim was originally built for testing Mercedes cars and the atmosphere is tremendous, especially when German drivers are doing well.

The circuit hosted the German Grand Prix since 1986, although in 2007 lost the race to the Nurburgring as Bernie Ecclestone ruled that no country may host more than one grand prix. The two circuits will now share the race.
