Japanese sensation Ryo Ishikawa has acknowledged that making the cut will be a feat in itself when he makes his debut in the Open Championship.
The 17-year-old, who qualified for Turnberry by finishing winning the Mizuno Open last month, will not have experienced anything like challenge he is set to face next week.
And he is realistic about his chances eight days before teeing off in his second major championship of the year after making his debut in the Masters in April.
"I may have to face my worst score ever. I may easily go double-digit over par," he said.
"Majors are still out of my league, but I feel a little more relaxed than last time. I'd like to be on the course as long as possible, so I hope to make the cut and play all four days of the tournament."
Ishikawa, one of the finest young talents in the game, became the youngest winner of a sanctioned tour when he won the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup at the age of 15 two years ago.
