Officials have announced that Baltusrol Golf Club will host the 2016 USPGA Championship.
The club in Springfield, New Jersey last staged the USPGA in 2005 when Phil Mickelson emerged triumphant and has also played host to seven US Opens.
The 2016 championship holds extra significance as it falls in the centennial year of the PGA of America which was founded in New York.
PGA officials explained that Baltusrol's location in the New York area had played a crucial role in their decision.
"It is one of the classic clubs in this country and being in the metropolitan New York area was important to us," PGA of America CEO Joe Steranka stated.
This year's 90th USPGA Championship gets underway on Thursday at Oakland Hills Country Club.
