Congratulations Padraig, truly you have now established your self as a golfing great. Those who will demean your victory because of Tiger Woods absence fail to realise how you respond to challenges you face while on the golf course.I have no doubt you can now push on and achieve further greatness, your hours of hard work and dedication are now paying off and your a credit to Ireland in how you handle yourself on and off the course.

3 out of the last 6 majors and now 2 out of the last 3 order of merits. Surpasses Langer, Lyle & Ollie in major wins. This guy beat Tiger in a playoff in Asia last year and Tiger himself commented on his mental strength. Tiger is out there on his own but Padraig is defenitely number 2 now regardless of what the world ranking points say. He is every golfers worst nightmare (particularly Sergio) when he is contending. He wont go away and can get the job done on the back 9. " You the man Paddy!"

A terrific win especially after the Americans said he doesn't have the game to win in America. Looking forward to the Ryder Cup, they don't like it up 'em.

Congrats Harrington. A Truly remarkable game of golf. Whether he is a challeneger to Tiger Woods - I would like to think so, but only time will tell. A congratulations also to Harringtons trainer, Bob Torrence. A sensational job he has done with Padraig. Well Done!! Roll on Augusta, lets hope Woods is back then!!

clearly the best player in the world in TW's absence. I m just glad he has won one of his majors while woods was competeing so we dont have all this rubbish about him only winning majors when Tiger wasnt around. Injury is a natural part of any Sport.

I have to laugh at a radio conversation I heard of in america after Harringtons second open championship. The host and guest were discussing how harrington could not win in america and that links golf suited his game etc etc... 3 weeks later he's uspga champion and I bet they feel like idiots now..Its bena great year for paddy 2 major wins 4th at augusta and hopefully another ryder cup win...Roll on september and then roll on augusta

One word - TENACIOUS. That was the thread which bound his round of golf together. He stood up to the plate and delivered. For every question asked on the back nine, he delivered. The turning point surely was his difficult 12 footer on the 16th to save par after Garcia went swimming, from then on Garcia knew he was under pressure. Congratulations Padraig!

Padraig's will to win is unbelievable and akin to Tiger Woods. He is testement to the saying that "you only get out what you put into anything", and nobody works or practices harder. Who says nice guys never come anywhere... If Garcia, Stenson, Casey or Rose can step up to the plate then Europe will be back to the glory days of Ballesteros, Faldo, Lyle ans Woosnam

I¿m so delighted for Padraig and his family. What a great Win, held his nerve and played out of trouble when he needed too and grounded out a result again. What a true champion and I cannot wait to watch his progress in the future.
