So-Yeon Ryu is the new world No 1 in women's golf, after the South Korean closed with a 69 to win the Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship at Pinnacle Country Club.
It was the South Korean's fifth victory on the LPGA Tour and her second of the season, as she moved from third to first in the world rankings.
Her closing round yielded three birdies and just one bogey, after hitting 16 of 18 greens in regulation. She finished two strokes clear of compatriot Amy Yang and Thailand's Moriya Jutanugarn.
As a result of Sunday's triumph Ryu - who is a two-time major champion - overtakes Ariya Jutanugarn and Lydia Ko in the world list.
And following her elevation to the top, Ryu said: "Dreams come true. I always dreamed about it. I cannot believe it.
"I didn't expect two good things coming together. First of all, I really appreciate everyone who has been supportive of me, to make me the No 1 player in the world.
"That's finally made my dream. This is going to be my first week as the No 1 player in the world. I know it's going to be a lot of pressure and I know I can handle a lot of different things."
She went into Sunday's final round with a five-shot lead, but says she did not feel confident until she had holed out on 17.
Ryu added: "I then had a really good walk to 18. I was really nervous last night. When you have a five-shot lead everybody is like, you are going to win the tournament for sure, but this is golf.
"I shot 10 under on Saturday and so that means someone had a chance to shoot 10 on Sunday."
