Brittany Lincicome will take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the Wegmans LPGA Championship.
The American was three shots clear at halfway, but a third round 71 saw the field close up and she has been left with only a narrow lead over former world No 1 Inbee Park and Norway's Suzann Pettersen.
Lincicome flirted between nine and 10-under most of Saturday, mixing in a series of birdies and bogeys around the turn, but she settled down and finished with four pars at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, New York.
Pettersen made the biggest move of the day with a superb five-under par 67, battling back from a bogey at the first to pick up six birdies and claim a place in the final group on Sunday.
Park, who can move closer to the top of the Rolex Rankings with a high finish, stayed bang in touch for victory with four birdies and a bogey in a round of 69, although she had to hole a superb putt for par on the final green to avoid dropping two behind Lincicome.
The trio have a two shot advantage on Mirim Lee of Korea, who also shot 69 to move to seven-under, with America's Gerina Piller on six-under.
Lydia Ko failed to make an impact on 'moving day' as she could only manage a 71 to sit four shots off the lead alongside Piller and Meena Lee.
And it proved an awful day for first-round leader Lexi Thompson, who slumped to a two-over 74 and is now in a logjam for 11th place, some six strokes behind Lincicome with 18 holes remaining.
