Inbee Park celebrated regaining the world No 1 ranking by earning a share of the first-round lead at the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Championship.

The South Korean birdied five of the last seven holes at the Miramar Country Club to return a sparkling eight-under 64, matching the earlier flawless card of Shanshan Feng.

Park, who reclaimed top spot in the rankings from Stacy Lewis on Monday, cruised to the turn in 33 before her fourth birdie of the round at the 12th prompted her flying finish.

She carded three straight birdies from the 14th and closed with another at the long final hole before savouring one of her best days on the greens this year.

"I hit the ball really solid all day and, on the back nine, everything seemed to drop," Park said. "I can't remember the last time I putted like this. It's been a really good putting day, so I'm really happy about that.

"I really concentrated on my putting this week and tried to improve a little bit and I practiced a lot on the greens this week. The hard work is paying off, so I'm really happy."

Feng also kept a bogey off her card as she made six birdies and an eagle at the par-five fifth to set the early clubhouse target, which was emulated only by Park throughout the remainder of the day.
