John Peterson found unusual ways to lift his mood as he struggled to last place at the CIMB Classic in Malaysia.
The American's spirits were understandably low when, after making the long trip to Kuala Lumpur, he failed to break 80 in the opening round and found himself four shots adrift at the bottom of the field.
So on returning to his hotel room, he decided to enjoy some target practice using a bidet for ammunition, taking out a number of targets with metronomic accuracy.
Peterson failed to make up much ground on the field over the next two days, slumping to 16 over par after rounds of 74 and 78, meaning he would start the final round a remarkable 36 shots behind joint-leaders Justin Thomas and Brendan Steele.
But he again made light of his situation and decided to conduct a tribute to Happy Gilmore for his opening tee shot, which clearly stunned the majority of the local fans.
And it clearly did the trick for his golf game as he birdied five of his last seven holes to return a six-under 66 - his best performance of the week by eight shots!
Peterson captured both enlightning moments on video and posted them on social media, earning plaudits from several of his peers including Keegan Bradley, Jason Dufner and Marc Leishman, who described Peterson as a "legend".
