Relive the moment Henrik Stenson won last year's Open at Royal Troon

The final round of The Open has produced many classic battles for the Claret Jug, with last year's duel between Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson one of the greatest in major history.

Chronicles of a Champion Golfer

Stenson began the day one ahead of the 2013 champion but lost his advantage with a three-putt bogey at the first, as Mickelson opened with a birdie and added an eagle at the par-five fourth.

The Swede fired a hat-trick of gains from the second and matched Mickelson's birdie at the sixth to pull them clear of the chasing pack, before picking up a shot at the par-three eighth to edge ahead.

Both players birdied the 10th but Stenson bogeyed the next to pull the contest all-square, only to move two ahead with back-to-back gains from the 14th.

The pair traded birdies at the par-five 16th to leave Stenson in a two-shot lead as he headed to the last, where he finished in style to close a record-breaking 63 and claim a three-shot victory.
