Patrick Reed leads by two going into the final round of the Quicken Loans National.
Third round leaderboard
(US unless stated)
-6 P Reed
-4 F Jacobson (Swe)
-4 M Leishman (Aus)
-4 S-Y Noh (Kor)
Reed's level-par third-round 71 in tough scoring conditions at Congressional CC on Saturday kept him at six under for the tournament as he bids for his third victory of the season on the PGA Tour.
The American had back-to-back birdies at the fourth and fifth but bogeyed the seventh and eighth to reach the turn in level.
He dropped another stroke at the par-three 13th before a birdie four at the long 16th and two closing pars capped a fine effort.
"I'm in a great position," Reed said. "Any time you are in the lead going into Sunday you feel pretty well."
South Korea's Seung-Yul Noh produced the round of the day - a five-under 66 - to move into a tie for second at four under alongside the leading European, Sweden's Freddie Jacobson (71), and Australian Marc Leishman (73).
Former US Open champion Justin Rose is part of the group a stroke further back after bogeying the 18th in a round of 71.
"I drove the ball incredibly well and gave myself an opportunity to keep playing well," Rose said. "I need to go and play a great round tomorrow."
