Jason Day continued his red-hot form and secured his third win in four starts with a dominant six-shot victory at The Barclays.
Making his first appearance since PGA Championship victory, the world No 3 never moved from the top of the leaderboard as he closed a birdie-filled 62 at Plainfield Country Club, to finish well clear of nearest challenger Henrik Stenson and move top of the FedExCup standings.
"I never expected to come out and play the way I did today," Day told Sky Sports 4. "It has been an amazing year for me and the work and dedication I've put in over the years feels like it's finally paying off. I've had been a whirlwind summer.
"I never really got the chance last week to sit down and go through what happened at the PGA, but to be able to come here and finish the way I did and leading by that much is something I've never had before."
Heading in to the final round tied for the lead with Sangmoon Bae, Day followed birdies at the second and fourth with a 10-foot gain at the seventh to quickly build a three-shot lead over the chasing pack.
Stenson kept chasing the Australian by posting three consecutive gains along the front nine, but Bubba Watson's hopes slipped away with a three-putt double-bogey from eight feet at the eighth.
Overnight joint-leader Bae dropped three shots in as many holes around turn, as Day moved four clear by kicking off the back nine with back-to-back birdies.
Although Stenson briefly halved the advantage, a three-putt bogey for the Swede at the 16th just moments after Day had posted a sixth gain of the day at the 14th all-but ended the contest.
The Australian extended the gap by sliding in a 35-foot birdie at the 15th before adding a 10-foot gain at the last to complete an emphatic win.

Stenson closed a four-under 66 to claim outright second ahead of Watson, with rookie Zac Blair joining Zach Johnson in fourth on 10 under after a career-best performance.
"It was nice to go and play well, but I had a good week and was good to get in to contention a little bit," Blair told Sky Sports 4.
An emotional week for Ryan Palmer, whose father passed away last week, was finished with a close-range birdie at the 18th to end alongside Bae and Daniel Summerhays on nine under.
A tap-in at the last sealed a five-under 65 for Dustin Johnson to leave him tied for ninth with Jason Bohn, with Jim Furyk a further stroke back after carding three birdies across the back nine.
Brian Harman made history in his final round by holing his tee shots at both the third and 14th to become only the third player in PGA Tour history to post multiple aces in a round, while a birdie at the last from Luke Donald secured his passage in to next week's Deutsche Bank Championship.
"It was a tough grind out there today," Donald told Sky Sports 4 after his one-over 71. It was a little bit of a mental and physical struggle out there.
"I got off to a great start birdieing the first two and it was nice to finish how I did, I knew a birdie would give me a few extra spots for next week.
"You try and concentrate on the golf but you know what's at stake, you don't want your season to end this early. You want to keep continuing and give yourself a chance to keep going."
