JB Holmes has made an early exit from the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, despite receiving a huge slice of fortune during his second group fixture.

Holmes was eliminated with a game to spare after failing to win either of his opening two matches in Texas, being thrashed 7&5 by Daniel Berger on Wednesday and sharing the spoils in his next fixture against Si Woo Kim.

The Ryder Cup star lost his opening two holes but lead with five holes to play, before getting a big break with the match all square on the putting green at the par-four 15th.

Holmes left himself an eight-foot putt to save par and keep the contest level, where he saw his ball grab the right-edge and fully horseshoe around the hole before continuing to circle the cup and eventually dropping in.
