Dame Laura Davies believes nothing other than a lightning start from Team Europe in the Sunday singles will give Annika Sorenstam’s side any chance of Solheim Cup glory.
Europe trailed 5.5-2.5 after the opening day and saw that deficit extend to five points during an excellent day's play in Iowa, leaving the visitors needing to produce the biggest final-day comeback in the tournament's history.
The home side won three of the four afternoon fourballs to leave them requiring just 3.5points on Sunday to retain the trophy, with Davies impressed by the quality on display.
"I think it's just the best golf we've ever seen in the Solheim Cup," Davies told Sky Sports. "We really had a bit of everything. The Americans were brilliant but, having said that, so were the Europeans.
"Yesterday, they (Team USA) out-putted Europe. Today, they just outplayed them. I've never seen anything like it.
"We have to win the first five matches. If we lose one or two of the first four matches then I think it's over."
