Mike Lorenzo-Vera fired a bogey-free 63 to take a two-shot lead into the final round of the Rocco Forte Open in Sicily.
The Frenchman followed up his second-round 64 by firing eight birdies on Saturday to get to 15 under and move clear of compatriot Julien Guerrier and Sweden's Joakim Lagergren.
Lorenzo-Vera came into the weekend two strokes off the pace but surged up the leaderboard in calm conditions at Verdura Golf Club after firing five birdies in a six-hole stretch along the back nine.
"If I bring the good game, I can win for sure," Lorenzo-Vera said. "If someone just doesn't go crazy and shoot ten under if it's good weather, I'll have a really good chance."
Lagergren fired five consecutive birdies around the turn on his way to matching Lorenzo-Vera's 63 and grabbing a share of second, as overnight joint-leader Julien Guerrier posted a four-under 67.
Lucas Bjerregaard sits three strokes off the pace in fourth spot, with Andy Sullivan six off the pace and in a share of fifth alongside Andrea Pavan.
