American Guthrie was four strokes ahead at the halfway stage but Spanish pair Cabrera-Bello and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano put him under pressure with rounds of 67 on Saturday.
Cabrera-Bello's bogey-free effort was enough to see him climb to the top of the leaderboard on eight under alongside Guthrie, who could only manage a level-par round of 72.
Fernandez-Castano is just one shot back in second position. His round looked set for a disappointing end when he dropped a shot on the 17th hole, but a birdie at the last gave him another boost.
His compatriot also enjoyed a strong finish to the round, Cabrera-Bello hitting his tee shot at 17 to three feet before holing the birdie putt.
Guthrie, in contrast, bogeyed two of his last three holes, meaning he passed up the chance to take any sort of advantage into Sunday's finale despite being three clear late in the round.
Frenchman Gregory Bourdy finished the day in fourth place on six under after also carding a 67, with Englishman Paul Casey tied with Scottish duo Craig Lee and Scott Jamieson one shot further adrift.
Rory McIlroy reeled off four straight birdies on the back nine but a double-bogey at the 18th left him signing for a round of 71, enough to put him in a tie for 14th on two under.
After the round the former world No 1 walked angrily off the green and banged his putter on the steps leading to the scorers' hut.
However, the day's major talking point involved Simon Dyson, who was disqualified from the tournament after it emerged that he signed for the wrong score during his second round.
