The PGA Tour veterans and close friend moved to 13 under for the tournament to earn a two-shot lead over DJ Trahan and 36-hole leader Arjan Atwal at Sea Island in Georgia.
Furyk birdied three of the first six holes and picked up another shot at 10, although he was then hampered by a cold putter as he parred the last eight holes to cap a bogey-free round.
Tournament host Love recovered from an erratic start to make three birdies in four holes from the fifth, and he rolled in his third birdie putt of the back nine on the final green to join Furyk at the summit.
Trahan was level par for the day after 12 holes, but he birdied four of the last six to briefly claim the clubhouse lead on 11 under par.
Atwal lost ground on the leaders when he bogeyed the 10th and 14th to slip to nine under, but he dragged himself back into contention with back-to-back birdies as he salvaged a 69.
Youngster Bud Cauley is a shot further adrift after returning a solid 68, but England's Greg Owen slipped seven strokes off the pace after labouring to a disappointing 71.
