Ian Baker-Finch reflects on his victory at Royal Birkdale

In the first of our video features from Royal Birkdale we take a look back at Ian Baker-Finch's success in the 120th Open.

The Australian won his only Major at the Southport course in 1991 when he held off the challenge of compatriot Mike Harwood.

Baker-Finch started quietly with two rounds of 71, but a 64 in the third round was followed by a final-day 66 to give him a two-shot victory over Harwood.

His third-round score was a course record at the time, although it was quickly beaten by Jodie Mudd's stunning 63 a day later.

"The Open Championship is the most special event of the year in golf," Baker-Finch said after his victory.

"Just to play in it is a thrill, and to win it is a dream. I was in a dream world when I was presented with that famous Claret Jug at Royal Birkdale."
