Sky Sports will have a number of innovations during our extensive coverage of The Open

Viewers had the opportunity to vote for the threeball they would like to make up the featured group coverage during the opening round of The Open, live on Sky Sports.

This vote has now concluded.

Sky Sports will have round-the-clock coverage from Royal Birkdale, with a dedicated channel for the 10 days around the third major of the year.

Featured group coverage will be available during every round on the red button and the Sky Sports apps. Viewers had the chance to select the players they would like to track on Thursday morning.

Padraig Harrington, the winner of the last Open to be held at Royal Birkdale in 2008, was part of the first option as he tees off with Pat Perez and big-hitting Thomas Pieters at 9.36am.

Defending champion Henrik Stenson featured in the second trio to consider, with two-time major winner Jordan Spieth and Players champion Si Woo Kim completing that threeball.

The final group available begin at 9.58am and contains Justin Rose, Justin Thomas and 2010 champion Louis Oosthuizen. Voting closed at midday on Wednesday.
