The 43-year-old from Wisconsin has almost enjoyed two careers on the PGA Tour. The first came prior to 2002 when he claimed three wins but then disappeared from the scene, eventually losing his card. A winter hitting balls into snow from the back of a caravan heated by a small heater followed and the hard work paid off. Since claiming The Barclays event in 2007 he has added another five titles, including two this year, and risen into the world's top five. A calm personality, a magnificent wedge player and possessed with a putting stroke that can run very hot, he seems like the ideal matchplay competitor and, indeed, in his "first" career on tour he won the WGC World Matchplay (in 2001). But his Ryder Cup debut in 2008 didn't go so well as he claimed just half a point from three matches. His Presidents Cup record in the last two matches has been very different, winning seven points from 10 and winning all four matches he played alongside Tiger Woods in 2009.
