Stylish swinger Soren Hansen is one of the four European debutants playing in Kentucky. The 34-year-old had to wait until the last qualifying event at Gleneagles before finally sealing his spot by right, his second successive top-ten finish on the European Tour enough to see him home at the Johnnie Walker Championship. Hansen racked up a total of seven top-tens in 2008 to finish eighth on the European points list, although a third European Tour win ultimately eluded him. He has previous team match play experience having qualified for Continental Europe's 2007 Seve Trophy team. However, the Dane did not have the most profitable time as he managed only 1½ points from his five matches, although he demonstrated his steel with a battling half in the singles against Nick Dougherty. A steady, reliable sort with an excellent temperament, Hansen has form heading into the match at Valhalla and will be looking to prove his qualification was no fluke.
