Europe have still to decide on their captain for the 2010 Ryder Cup after a meeting held on Tuesday evening came to nought.
The Ryder Cup committee met for almost four hours without reaching a decision and will now reconvene in Dubai on Monday January 26, the plan being for their choice to be announced the following day.
Spaniard Jose Maria Olazabal and Britons Ian Woosnam and Sandy Lyle are the frontrunners to lead Europe at Wales' Celtic Manor in 20 months' time.
Europe will be seeking to regain the trophy they lost to the United States last autumn.
