I am staggered and emmensely disappointed at the appalling behaviour of the players and the crowd at recent Ryder Cups. Why is it that people that behave in a sporting fashion for 2 years abandon all of their values for 3 days golf when competing for the Ryder Cup. We have crowds abusing players, players abusing other players, players dancing around in celebration whilst their opponent still has a significant shot to play and, in the case of Valhalla, players coming into aggressive physical contact! How long before we have yellow and red cards or sin bins? I've had enough and will restrict my golf viewing to all the other many tournaments where the players manage to behave like gentlemen!

I watched the Ryder Cup for the first time this year. I immediatey realised that the notion of one player allowing another a "Gimmie" is asking for trouble. All sorts problems can and did arise from it. On the first green of the singles Garcia was asked to put, which he did sucesfully he then allowed a gimmie to Kim whose ball was exactly the same distance from the hole. If this was a ploy to say 'see how much more sporting I am thay you are' it certainly backfired. I say make each player play every shot, even if it is only an inch. The notion that these people are 'sportsmen' seems farcical to me given some of the antics and goings on this weekend of some players.

I know it would never happen, but I would love to see instead of a tie resulting in a retention of the cup for whichever side won it last, that the captains face off against oneanother in either an 18 hole or sudden death playoff. Also in the event of any ungentlemanly conduct (as assessed by the referee) and automatic forfiture of the hole or in extreme cases the match.

i think it is about time both teams are allowed 1 reserve player to play in the singles if ther is a illness or injury this name in a envelope is unfair remember david gilford at kiawah island
