We continue our countdown to The Open by taking a look back at another iconic image from the Royal Birkdale archives as Greg Norman rolled back the years in 2008.
The veteran Australian stunned the world with a blistering opening three rounds to put himself in the lead going into the final day of The Open, hitting a 70, 70 and 72 to lead by two shots.
Norman, the 1986 and 1993 Open champion, was playing in the tournament for the first time in three years and became the oldest 54-hole leader of a Major at the age of 53.
But it was not to be for Norman, who struggled on the Sunday and made eight bogeys on the way to a seven-over 77, while Padraig Harrington stormed back with a 69 to claim the Claret Jug for a second successive year.
Norman's age record also only lasted a year due to Tom Watson's heroics at Turnberry in 2009 where he set the pace after three rounds at the age of 59.
