It's been an extraordinary 12 months for Bubba Watson. Last year he didn't even qualify for the US Open but later that June he made the big breakthrough when winning his first PGA Tour title - The Travelers Championship in Connecticut. August saw him reach and lose a play-off in the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits before he went on to make his Ryder Cup debut at Celtic Manor in October. In 2011 he's kicked on again, adding two more PGA Tour titles to his CV. First came a superb victory in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines which was followed by a play-off triumph in New Orleans at the start of May. Yes, his freakish big hitting, playful spirit and love of social media get him headlines but Bubba is delivering big-time on the course too. A contender in the 2007 US Open when new on the scene, a nervous Bubba said he felt like "throwing up all the time". He still feels the nerves but he's definitely more balanced on the golf course and his length and power could make him a live contender on the vast layout at Congressional.
