Despite notching up four US Tour victories, Choi remained somewhat under the radar until 2007 when his star shone brighter than ever before. The Korean secured two more big wins at the Memorial Tournament and the AT&T National, added a runner-up finish at the Barclays and was always prominent before finishing eighth at the Open Championship. His stellar year added weight to the growing belief that the 37-year-old could be a major winner in the waiting. Choi has already shown a liking for Augusta, finishing third there in 2004 on just his second visit to the course. He has made a solid start to 2008 season, finishing second in Hong Kong back in November and winning the Sony Open in January and now seems to possess the belief and confidence to open his major account.
