Before last year's US Open at Torrey Pines the general assumption was that if Tiger Woods was fit, he was the most likely winner of any major he played in. Now we know he doesn't even need to be fit - if necessary he can win with a broken leg! We also know that Tiger can play Augusta because four wins on the course proves that. And we can also take it for granted that his entire rehabilitation process has been focused on this week. The big question is whether the re-modelled Tiger Woods is an improved version and many observers think he could be. His swing looks smoother than it has for years and he claims that the left knee is stronger than ever. At Doral his ball-striking was supreme but his putting was poor. Before Bay Hill, Rocco Mediate said, "He isn't putting yet. Danger, danger, danger." Tiger then topped the putting stats and won the tournament. The warning has been issued - Tiger is ready for Augusta.
