It has long been the feeling that a first Major triumph is just round the corner for the Englishman, largely due to the fact that he appears to have everything in his armoury needed to win one of the game's big prizes. Long off the tee, accurate from the fairway and a solid putter when on song, Casey just needs to put everything together for four rounds at a major. He threatened to do so at Augusta last year, starting the final round just four strokes behind eventual winner Trevor Immelman in fourth. However, a couple of early setbacks - including a penalty-stroke he was forced to call on himself - sparked a final-round collapse and he finished outside the top-ten after a disastrous closing 79. A cold putter then undermined his efforts for much of last year and he was forced to rely on a wildcard to secure a place on Europe's Ryder Cup team. But 2009 has seen him make the big breakthrough and he heads to Augusta on the back of a first win in America after beating JB Holmes in a play-off to win the Shell Houston Open. The 31-year-old also scored a first European Tour triumph in two years at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship followed by a run to the final of the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship at the beginning of March. In form and with two top-ten finishes at Augusta already under his belt, could 2009 be the year Casey claims a Green Jacket?
