Ian Woosnam was a happy man after signing for a second round 71 that ensures he will be playing the weekend at Augusta.
Following a first round 75, it was the Welshman's first successful cut at the Masters since 2000 and came a year after he feared he might never play in the event again.
The 1991 champion, who turned 50 last month, missed last April's tournament because of a battle with chronic fatigue syndrome that kept him out of action for eight months.
But after chipping in at the first on Friday morning he added a 71 to his opening 75 for a two over par total of 146.
Mood
Even three-putting the last for bogey did not alter the Welshman's mood too much.
"It's nice being a senior - you just hit the ball and don't get nervous," he said. "I'll just be glad to make the cut and I'm really, really happy.
"I keep getting spasms, but as I get going I get better."
Europe's winning Ryder Cup captain at the K Club, Woosnam was told of a report that Jose Maria Olazabal had been approached by the European Tour about doing the job in Wales in 2010.
He had spoken up in favour of Sandy Lyle, one of his assistants in Ireland, but commented: "That's great - he's got two green jackets and is a great ambassador.
"It's a shame if Sandy does not get it, but good for him (Olazabal)."
