Angel Cabrera's victory in the Masters on Sunday night has propelled him up to 18th place in the world rankings.
The Argentinian had been without a win since picking up his first major title in the 2007 US Open, and had slipped to 69th in the list.
But the play-off success takes him ahead of Stewart Cink and Mike Weir, but behind 19-year-old sensation Rory McIlroy, who showed great maturity to finish in a tie for 20th at Augusta.
The top five players in the world all retain their positions after the first major tournament of the year, but Kenny Perry's consolation for losing the play-off is a jump from 11th to sixth in the rankings, just behind three-time major winner Padraig Harrington.
Perry has been in great form all year, having won the FBR Open in Scottsdale as well as recording four other top-10 finishes prior to the Masters.
