The first major of the year is upon us and we want to know who you think will win the 2008 Masters.
Do you believe Tiger Woods will land a fifth green jacket and take his first step towards golf's Grand Slam.
Who will be his nearest challengers? Can Zach Johnson repeat his 2007 success or will Phil Mickelson make it a Masters hat-trick.
What about the Europeans? Can the likes of Lee Westwood, Justin Rose, Paul Casey and Luke Donald land a first major?
How about Padraig Harrington? He now has a major under his belt following his Open success last year. Can he add the Masters title?
Can Sergio Garcia bounce back from his Carnoustie heartbreak and triumph at Augusta?

Vijay e/w great bet at 66/1, Adam Scott the injured golfer e/w, and a hefty bet on Eldrick, but wait till after the first days play when he'll be a couple of strokes off the lead and much better value.

You read it here first folks. I have enough money for a holiday, well maybe a few holidays after backing Immleman at 125/1. Did anyone take my advise? I can't see anyone else tipping him to win on the forums. My tip for next year................ POD!!!

Much as i'd love to see Padraig win I think his accuracy off the tee is not up to it at the minute. I also think Adam Scott is good value, however Tiger will win

i agree, goosen each way at 25-1 is the best bet. Harrington to win the par 3 contest at 33-1 (has done it twice) couples not bad each way either or Rose for top european.

Tiger must be favourite but Retief Goosen hasn't finished outside the top three for four years and at 28/1 he must be worth a bit of each way interest. I also think henrik stenson may do well.

I cant understand why nobody is mentioning Adam Scott's name. He is in great form and has the game to win at Augusta. I would love a Luke Donald or Harrington to win but I just can't see it. If Woods fails to win his 14th major I think Scott will be there to take the green jacket and at 25-1 he is great value too.

The question we must ask ourselves is what requirements must a player have, in order to win the Masters?. Ultimately, he needs long staright drives to challenge the unforgiving fairways and doglegs of Augusta. High soring long irons which land ever so gracefully on the hard pan greens guarded by tretchorous bunkers and creeks, to attack tucked away flag positions. Imaginative iron play to shape the ball both ways, with varying trajectories and pin point accuracy. A must have fairytale short game, not even walt disney himself could have ever dreamt up. Mental toughness, the key to pushing on through tough conditions and struggling form. there is only one man on this planet whom has such a game to match the demands of Augusta National. Unless of course, you have the balls to take him on?

Tiger is the only fancy for US Masters but at 5/4 you must be kidding. I think an American will win and you have to look at the big hitters.. so my choice is JB HOLMES for a top 5 finish.

Although Americans have won it the last few years the tournament has been kind to Europeans, and Brits, in the last couple of decades, and I think we can see another Brit triumph this time. Westwood seems to have taken on a new fitness regime that could see him last the distance and Rose will be confident after last year's good showing. About time Poulter really proved himself over the final nine of a big tournament as well. Come on chaps, fly the union jack at Augusta!

I have a sneaky feeling that it could be Vijay Singh wearing the green jacket this time around. He's playing well at the moment and im hoping he can hold off Tigers challenge and re-capture the trophy he won in 2000. The player that finishes ahead of Tiger will no doubt be having his name etched as 2008 US Masters champion! Watch this space.......................

I think that more than likely Tiger will win easily...I don't think the Europeans have any chance of winning. Outside bet would be Geoff Ogilvy who is playing extremely well or perhaps Adam Scott is he gets over his recent illness.

If Tiger fails to produce his best he can still win, that cannot be said for any other player in the field. Harrington is a popular choice and at 30/1 represents great value for his putting stats alone. Now a major winner he will have increased self belief if still there with 9 holes to play. Garcia, little chance 250/ 1 in my book, can't putt, can't win. If not Tiger my three against the field would be Furyk, Stricker, and at odds of circa 50/1 Singh, amazing value for a recent winner.

It will be suprising if the conditions at Augusta are as difficult as last year. Westwood is in good form but my money is going on an outsider Immleman who has power in reserve and an iron nerve.

I think you can never count Tiger out but im still not convinced on his driving. He can be very eractic with it sometimes and Augusta is not the course that you are goin to get away with it. He is still stuggling at times when he tries to play a draw and Augusta requires alot of ball shapen to land the ball in the correct spots of the green. With his recovery and putting and chipping but, he is never going to be far away. I think he will be top four but i think this is a year for a European victory. Alot of strong opposition out in the field with Harrington coming into his prime and Westwood who came so close before coming back into great form, it is hard to determine who will finish top. Great course management will be the key here because it isn't about getting it close to the pin so much but making sure u land it in the correct places so if the shot goes wrong, you can still make up and down. Very difficult greens so the putter will have to be hot so i thing with shot making, course management and putting a key, the European hopefulls will be Harrington, Westwood, Luke Donald and of course the nearly man of last year, Justin Rose. So indeed, i think we good see the victor alot closer to home this Year!!!!!

Punters' choice is none other than Tiger Woods. All statistics point towards a Tiger victory. However, there is always an outside chance of an upset but that would be very slim. If really there is an upset, a British might be the one to inflict the Tiger's wound.
